It must be Karma

"Before God can select you, the world must reject you. You can do it willingly, or God will help you accept the process of Election." ~ Roy E Stewart, Pastor, Green Meadow Missionary Baptist Church, 1980

5 “If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you, Then how can you contend with horses? And if in the land of peace, In which you trusted, they wearied you, Then how will you do in the floodplain [ swelling, KJV] of the Jordan? 6 For even your brothers, the house of your father, Even they have dealt treacherously with you; Yes, they have called a multitude after you. Do not believe them, Even though they speak smooth words to you” (Jeremiah 12:5-6).

It must be Karma

It must be that this is Karma,

To endure this reality as my Dharma.

Stumped I was when I heard one of them say,

“We need you to adopt our way.”

I couldn’t get away from a long, pointing finger.

Backed up to a precipice, for safety, I had to linger.

“We need you to be like us –

Then you will earn our trust.”

“No, there’s no rule, not a stipulation.”

To be like them would be my capitulation-

To become “like the rest of us - us and you,

"For harmony among us, this you must do.”

We talk about this and not that.

Well, I'd best not drop my hat,

Since I could break a rule

When they say there’s is no rule.

Yet, that is used as a tool

To attempt to train me in their school.

I thought it was over,

But lo and behold, it’s not over.

It’s just under a new guise -

Dressed in a cloak of the wise.

I'm sure I'll fail the grade,

I'd rather be in the Wisdom School

Not run by factions torn apart and within,

Still not looking in truth at their sin.

I guess I must be a mirror,

But my own mirror I hold dearer.

I look to peace within for salvation.

They think they have his elevation

In their smug self-revelation, they claim as God’s.
